Hello and welcome to my website.
I have always loved needlecraft, fabric, fashion, sewing and knitting – and now weaving, although a late convert to the latter. In fact, I can’t remember when I wasn’t interested in handling fabric and textiles, even from a very early age as a baby in my pram, I’m told. Perhaps it’s a throwback to my great-grandmother who was one of Queen Victoria’s dressmakers at her court.
Having been fashion editor of a leading women’s magazine in my early 20’s with responsibility for the ready-to-wear, knitting and sewing pages each month, I went on to become a well-known freelance fashion knitting and crochet designer/crafts professional whose work has been featured in many leading UK magazines over the past 30 years. I also love teaching and encouraging others to learn so I now run workshops and classes in knitting, crochet, weaving and other textile arts in which I dabble as well, from my studio in Cambridgeshire. Take a look at my Textile Art and Workshop & Classes pages to see what I’ve been up to recently.
And I quite like talking and communicating about creative pastimes and pursuits, too, so am available for talks, lectures and demonstrations for crafts groups and enthusiasts and would be happy to come along to talk to your group, WI meeting or crafts club. In addition, using my early experience on the magazine, I also offer editorial photography direction and styling; please ask for further details.
